Qualis Health has a long and successful history of collaborating with local healthcare providers and is pleased to continue this tradition through our Medicare projects.

Medicare's current Quality Improvement Organization contract directs us to meet the following goals in working with healthcare professionals:

• Protect Medicare beneficiaries by investigating individuals' concerns about their care
  Our review team investigates cases in which Medicare beneficiaries are concerned about the quality of their care, when they feel they are being discharged too soon, or when Medicare mandates a particular case review.
   
• Improve care safety, especially for Medicare beneficiaries
  Learn more about our work to prevent healthcare-associated infections across Idaho and Washington, reduce adverse drug events in high-risk populations, lower the incidence of pressure ulcers and physical restraint use; and to improve coordination during transitions across care settings.
   
• Increase preventive care, especially for Medicare beneficiaries at risk for cardiovascular disease
  Learn more about our work to employ electronic health record (EHR) systems to efficiently increase the use of cardiovascular-related preventive services in primary care and cardiology practices.
   
• Preserve the Medicare Trust Fund by ensuring that Medicare only pays for services that meet quality standards, are necessary, and are provided in the proper care setting
  Learn more about our work related to Medicare's Annual Payment Update, Value-Based Purchasing, physician acknowledgement, and HWDRG programs for hospitals; the Physician Quality Reporting System; and authorizations for using an assistant at cataract procedures.
   
• Serve as an information source regarding Medicare priorities and guidelines
  In addition to conveying information via our website, we host webinars, write newsletters, speak at events, and provide one-on-one consultation to healthcare professionals throughout Idaho and Washington. Join our email list to keep informed about Medicare-related news.
