Improving Quality of Life

Advancing Excellence in America's Nursing Homes is a nationwide, two-year, coalition-based campaign to improve the quality of life for nursing home residents and staff.

The campaign launched in September 2006 and builds on the success of the Quality First campaign, the Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI), and the culture change movement.

Advancing Excellence is focused on making measurable improvement toward eight goals. Participating nursing homes pledge to work on at least three of those goals throughout the two-year period.

Many of Idaho and Washington’s nursing homes were among the first to sign up for this campaign, earning “Trailblazer” status and helping guide the way to local improvements. Qualis Health serves as a member of the Local Area Network for Excellence (LANE) in both Idaho and Washington.
