Our Work as a Medicare QIO

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, awards Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) contracts in every U.S. state and territory. The QIO program is a major force and partner for the continual improvement of health and healthcare for all Americans, achieving national quality goals through a network of QIOs that convene local communities for learning and action. QIOs ensure the quality, effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of healthcare services provided to people with Medicare. Learn more about Medicare’s nationwide QIO program.

Qualis Health holds the 2011-2014 QIO contracts for both Idaho and Washington. (View the press release and an overview of our QIO-related activities.) We have successfully performed this role since the inception of the QIO program and operated as one of Medicare’s peer-review organizations (a precursor to the QIO) since 1984. Our team includes experienced clinical, analytical, communication, and administrative staff.

We provide QIO services to healthcare professionals, Medicare beneficiaries, and community-based initiatives throughout Idaho and Washington.
